He did it again with palette number #2, and he says he even improved upon the first “ever” Jeffree Star Eye Shadow Palette, Beauty Killer. It took him nine months to create a more buttery, more pigmented formula, that’s been triple milled. Meet the newest eye shadow palette from Jeffree Star: ANDROGYNY.
Thankfully, Jeffrey left the jumbo sized pans that gives more than double the amount of eye shadow than almost all other brands! It will take a long, long time to hit pan on these beauties. He also gives us that beautiful mirror, not a teensy weensy mirror, he makes it is easy for you to “get ready” using it! His products are 100% vegan, and cruelty free. He even uses leatherette, a cruelty free leather look alike, to cover this beautiful palette.
The palette is not gorgeous in bubblegum pink, with gold stamping, it also has “reptile” embossing to give it texture with a punch of wow. (Personally, I love the “reptile” inclusion, it reminds me of my Iguana, Claire, who looks and feels like the outside of the palette, and I always want to dress her up in pink!) Remarkable Jeffrey, really!
The ten shades that create this palette are what Jeffrey refers to as “earthy sexy”. This palette is Jeffrey’s idea of a neutral palette. At least it is neutral according to how Jeffrey sees neutral (which is a lot more interesting than the way most of us see neutral) which makes Jeffrey even more popular to his fans! He has two formula’s in this palette, metallics, and super-mattes that give insane coverage.
Starting on the top row, with the neutral shades, from left to right
Frosting is a creamy, pale gold metallic
Frosting can be used as a highlighter, you can use it in the corner of your eye, I would even use it as a shimmer on my eyelids.
Safe Word is a cool toned light brown.
Safe Word makes a great crease color. It also would be a good contour color if you are fair complected.
Charm is a warm-toned tangerine/orange shade with metallic flecks
Charm is a great shade for any skin tone. It is perfect for a transition shade. I love using it in the crease mixed with a brown shade, which is a great transition for a peach look.
Deja Vu is a frosted metallic brown with glitter
This is an easy, go-to bronze-brown shade. I would use it to make a bronze smokey eye, I’d use it all over the lid, or even as a lash liner would be fun.
Dominatrix is an exact replica of Jeffree’s Liquid Lipstick of the same name. It is looks chocolate brown in this photo, but it is more of a milk chocolate with some plum in it. It is a delicious, interesting brown.
This is a great accent shade, on the outer corner of the eye, and would make a great eye liner. For a really dramatic look, you could use it in your crease and mix it with something else to make it more fun, dramatic, and interesting. Also, do a really dramatic smokey eye with it! I really love this shade, no wonder Jeffrey replicated it from his liquid lip formula.
We are going to row two, left to right.
Androgyny, the namesake shade of the palette, is a plum, mauve hybrid.
I love this shade because it is a soft “purple”, and I would wear it in the crease, on the lid, and make a gorgeous smokey eye with it. I think you could do just about anything with this shade. It is so pretty, and deep, I ‘m crazy about it!
Fetish is a deep dark red with a little metallic in it.
Fetish is a gorgeous “Indian” Red that reminds me of the Crayola Crayon in Indian Red. I always was attracted to it because of the red in it, I would use this as an accent shade, a crease shade, and even a liner. I bet you could do a great, interesting smokey eye with this mixed with another shade.
Military is a matte army green. I think this is an interesting shade of green to place in the palette, very unusual because it is such a khaki shade. However, they are showing Military shades in clothing, and matching them with colors, such as pink, which we would never have dreamed of doing before. But, it works and looks great, so I am excited to play with this shade and see what I can come up with. I’d love it if you could give me your ideas , too!
Poison is a teal blue/green.
I love teal on my lids, or as an eye liner. I like the mix of blue and green, I think teal goes with everything.
Swallow is a hot shade! It is dark blue.
Use it as a liner, an accent in the corner of your eye (outer), and all over the lid. I love blue, Even my cars always have to be blue.
Jeffree Star’s New Androgyny Palette ($45) is a real winner. Jeffrey put an interesting mix of shades into this palette which makes it exciting to work with. The palette formula has been improved upon, and Jeffree maintained the best parts of palette #1, the humongous size of the pans, the beautiful packaging, with a mirror that you can actually use to put the shadows on, and a formula change that only enhances the palette, making it more buttery, creamy, and so pigmented that they blend amazingly well. Can’t wait to see what other amazing makeup Jeffree makes for us!
You Are Amazing!
