Do you remember when Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty launched last year? A few of the new items were only in one shade. For example, Rihanna’s favorite lip gloss, Gloss Bomb, was the only lip bomb shade. Although, it was a “universal” lip color, in a shimmering rose nude shade. Also, the Fenty Stunna Lip Paint , Uncensored, came in the “perfect universal shade of red.” I purchased Uncensored, because I love how I look in a bold blue red lip.
Although,, how many people do you know who wear a bold shade of blue red? It might be a classic shade. However, some women prefer a cherry red. Others like to wear an orange red. Still, others love a pink red. Above all, a lot of women don’t even wear red. For instance, my girlfriend will only wear the nudest of nudes. She doesn’t think she looks good in any color.
Furthermore, my future daughter in law would never think to wear red, never ever! I put a gorgeous red lipstick on her, and she looked like a movie star. She looked gorgeous wearing bold red lips! Although, if she needed a new lipstick, she would, most likely, buy Rihanna’s rose nude Gloss Bomb.
Variety is the spice of life. I realize that Fenty Beauty was a brand new line of makeup. Therefore, they probably wanted to see what worked and what didn’t before they started creating a zillion other colors. Last month, they did release four new Fenty Stunna Lip Paint Shades. And, these new colors are also “universal.” So, they should look good on everyone!
You can find Stunna Lip Paint at Sephora and on Fenty Beauty’s Website. The Stunna Lip Paint retails for $18.
Fenty Stunna Lip Paint Packaging
To begin with, the packaging reminds me of a bottle of nail polish. Don’t get me wrong, the packaging is beautiful. The bottle is faceted, and has a long, faceted, gold lid that comes to a flat topped point. It would look beautiful sitting on a vanity.
In fact, I thought the applicator would be similar to a nail polish brush. Well, it isn’t! Instead, it is a doe-foot applicator.
To illustrate, the doe foot has two sides, a rounded side, and a flat, slanted side.
First, use the flat side edge , turn it upside down, and line your lips. The, turn it to the other side to fill your lips in with color.
Fenty Stunna Lip Paint Formula
The formula gives you high-impact color. Also important, the lip paint is long lasting. It claims to last up to 12 hours. Moreover, the paint feels weightless on your lips.
It doesn’t feather. At first, I thought that the consistency of the formula was watery. Although, the fluid glided easily onto my lips. However, it is a liquid lip paint, and like paint, give it time to dry. Furthermore, I did have some transfer. Finally, I was curious to see if the new colors had the same formula as the original Uncensored Shade. I believe that the formula is the same as the original shade.
Fenty Stunna Lip Paint Shades
First, I purchased the original shade, Uncensored, when Fenty Beauty launched last year. Then, Fenty created four new shades. I purchased two of the four. First, Uninvited is a Bold shade of Black. Next, Unveil is a chocolate brown shade.
The two shades I purchased are Unbutton and Uncuffed. I love Unbutton because it is my perfect nude shade. It is a soft peach shade. Also, Uncuffed is a gorgeous shade of rosy mauve. Both shades are super wearable. Also, they are softer shades than the bold universal Uncensored.
Fenty Stunna Lip Paint Last But Not Least……..
The Stunna Lip Paints have soft matte finishes. Usually, liquid mattes dry out my lips. When this happens, my lips get flaky, and the lipstick gets flaky. So far, I have not had a problem with dry lips. Also, I love the new, softer shades. Black is too funky for me. Also, the chocolate brown shade looks ashy on me. As a result, don’t take Fenty’s word that the shades will look good on you since they are supposed to look good on everybody. That is just not how it works.
Lipstick has to look good on your skin tone. Not everyone has the same skin tone. If you have a lot of yellow in your skin, you may not look the same as someone with a tan! The soft peach shade is my neutral, but if you are really fair, it may be your out to dinner shade. My advice is to try the shades and decide which, if any, shade looks good on you! Let me know if you’ve tried the Stunna Lip Paints in the comments below. I do think it could make a good gift, because the bottle is so good looking. It would make a nice presentation. Maybe, gift the red and one of the neutral shades?
