I fell in love with the Dior Summer Dune Collection 2021 before the launch ! The reason is, the Summer Dune Collection inspiration comes from sunny summer skies over desert sand dunes. In fact, the shades reflect the play of light on the desert sand dunes. To begin with, the collection includes two limited edition 5 Couleurs Couture Eyeshadow Palettes. One palette (699) is Summer Dune. The other palette (759) is Mirage. Both palette shades look similar. That makes a lot of sense. This is because both palettes play with the the warm and golden shimmers of the sun. Although, Summer Dune leans more towards Bronze and Gold shimmering shades.. On the other hand, Mirage is more bronze and gold shimmering shades. Also included in the Dior Summer Dune Collection are two Rouge Graphist Lipstick Pencils. Both shades reflect hues you’d see during sunset over the desert.
You can find the Dior Summer Dune Collection 2021 at Bloomingdales, Saks Fifth Avenue, Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman and on the Dior Website. Also, the 5 Couleurs Couture Eyeshadow Palettes (0.14 oz. / 4g) each cost $63. Additionally, the Rouge Graphist Lip Pencils (0.05 oz. / 1.4g) each cost $36.
The Dior Summer Dune Collection Packaging
First, the Summer Dune Collection Packaging is also signature Dior Cosmetics packaging. Hence, the shiny dark blue boxes, all have silver writing. Next, the eyeshadow palette plastic compact is also signature Dior Blue, with silver writing, and. Also, the compact is an easy to work, push the skinny silver bar down, and the compact will open. To close, simply push down on the lid of the compact until you hear the click. Once you hear that click, the compact is closed, and secure. Inside, the compact includes nice, big mirror underneath the compact lid. Opposite the mirror are five eyeshadow pans, and two dual-ended applicators.
The shades have an ombre effect. In fact, the effect is supposed to represent the waves of desert sand dunes, with the hues of the summer sun hitting the waves of sand.
One last thought, the 5 Couleurs Couture Palettes are signature Dior. There are two shades at the top, one highlighter in the middle, and two shades on the bottom. Also important, these palettes are designed to create multiple looks. However, two looks are laid out for you. Top shades left and right , plus the center shade, create your soft look. Then, the left and right bottom shades, plus the shade in the center of the palette, create your intense look!
Furthermore, The Rouge Graphist comes in a Dior Blue crayon, with a Dior blue lid. Last, twist the bottom of the crayon for more of the crayon to come up and out!
The Dior Summer Collection Formulas
First, the Summer Dune Collection 5 Couleurs Couture Eyeshadows Formula, in the Summer Dune and Mirage Palettes, is comfortable to wear. The reason is, the shadows are made with a fine powder that feels cream to the touch. As a result, the texture of all the shadows is creamy.
First, the shadows are easy to apply. Next, they are blendable and buildable. Also, the shades blend easily. And, the shades are easy to layer. Therefore, if the shadows are too light, you will be able to layer the shade, and adjust the color intensity. Finally, the shadows are long-wearing!
Second, the Rouge Graphist Summer Dune Collection Formula has rich pigments that give you an intense , one-stroke result, color payoff. Also, the formula feels creamy on the lips, and is comfortable to wear. Also, the lipstick, in pencil form, allows a precision application. Additionally, the lipstick is long-wearing. Finally, you can wear the lipstick as a base, with another lipstick on top, for a bolder look. In fact, that is exactly how we wore our lipsticks in the 1980s.

My Final thoughts On The Dior Summer Dune Collection 2021…….
First of all, this is Dior, not Pat McGrath and Natasha Denona. Hey, it’s not even Nars. Instead, the Dior look for summer 2021 is more in the lines of Bobbi Brown’s New Jones Road Makeup! Dior has a refined look. In fact, it is more glow, and less show. The thing I love most is the two eyeshadow palettes, in the Summer Dune Collection, is more about the shimmer, and less about the shade. For example, the shades are muted. In fact, you are never going to achieve a great color payoff with these palette. However, whatever color you do get, matched with the ultra-refined shimmering finish, will give you the most beautiful radiance. The key word here is refined! So, if you want a refined, shimmering, radiance this summer, then go for one of these palettes.
If you are looking for a subtle, elegant look, then go for these. I prefer the Summer Dune Palette. This is because it seems to be more pigmented than the Mirage palette. I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments below. Also, the Lip Crayon Lipsticks are the opposite of the eyeshadows. For one thing, the intense lipsticks are vibrant. They are gorgeous. Don’t misunderstand, I do love this collection. I think that the desert dunes, meet sunshine skies, works for me! I wore the Summer Dune Palette today, and got a lot of compliments on my “makeup!”
