Covid 19 has made our lives a living hell.  For one thing, we are all confused.  Even more, we are scared like we’ve never been before.  As a result, we feel anxious all the time.   First, like you, I miss my ordinary life!  3stlamThis ain’t no stay-cation.  Because, if it was a stay-cation, we’d be giving ourselves facials and pedicures.   Instead, we clean the house, eat, and watch CNN all day! And, all we hear is it is going to get worse.”  This pandemic is a really unique animal.  It is draining “the system” like never before.4f6425c319fa4148a67c181955cbe464

Pampering ourselves is not the answer.  One reason is, our anxiety level has left us paralyzed. I’m sure you feel the same way as me.  Moreover, I need to whine.  Yes, I’ve always been a homebody.  However, today I was thinking about what I missed most.  Since I am one of the people who are at risk, I have been in the house for well over two weeks.   First of all, I miss being able to jump in my car to go to the grocery store.  I miss my mom.  In addition, I miss going out to dinner with my friends.  Even more, I miss taping YouTubes with my Bff, Randi.  I can’t even fathom the fact that I can’t see my children and grand-babies (there are 5 of them, and we all live in in a two mile radius of each other.)Anxiety-Quotes-on-surviving

I’m trying to be optimistic.  My husband sits around all day telling me “we are all going to die.”  I remind him of all the positive things.  We are not sick.  We are home with our 8 dogs, three parrots, and Claire, my iguana.  My brother lives here too.  And, my kids drop too much food off every time they go to the store.  But, we are having a very difficult time with this.  Even more, I am sure a lot of you aren’t having fun.  I’m sure there are many of you who are also having a difficult time now.  The numbers just passed 211, 000 Americans who have the Corvid 19 virus. closed-until-further-88a161f000 In a matter of days, one millions people will have the virus.  The nation is stricken.  The world is stricken.  90% of Americans are on stay at home order.  Staying at Home is the best weapon we’ve got! Anxiety-QuotesAre you okay?  Because, I am not okay!!  I’m sure most of you aren’t okay either.unnamed-2

I hear about the deaths doubling and tripling every day.  As a result, I am sad, frustrated, and angry with the world.  Worse, the tension around the world is unbearable.  I feel hopeless.  However, we are supposed to gain our strength and character in times like these.  Hence, times like this are what make us who we are!  Who knows when things will go back to normal?  Will it ever be the way it was?Anxiety-Quotes-about-chaos

Whatever you do, don’t do something crazy.  Tonight I got so angry with my husband, who sits in front of the tv, all day, and eats.  Then, he makes a huge mess!  I wanted to run out of the house.  But, I made the decision not do do something crazy.  Instead, when you get that frustrated, you need to bring yourself to a different place.  First, you need to think about what is.  Not what was, or what could be!  imagesYou’ve got to adapt.  Also, you need to help others, and be there for one another.  Go take a walk around the block.  Face-time your kids.  Call your friends.  Find the time to relax.  Reach out to people in need.  Try to find some humor in it all.  In other words, you need to adapt to the here and now.

The Key To What You Can Do During the Corvid 19 Coronavirus6a011168668cad970c017c364df59e970b

First of all, it’s not that everything is a disaster now, and the whole world sucks!  Nor is it about when everything was awesome.  Things really do suck right now.  Some things feel really unfair.  Other things hurt.  Still, other things are boring.  It really is okay to be not okay!USA-Is-Closed-MEME

Stop focusing on getting through this.  Instead, you need to focus on being in the moment!  MRax4610Start thinking about what we can do now – while we are in the middle of it!  Even more important, stop thinking that our heads will get back to being level headed once the world changes, don’t wait for that to happen.pollenhero-1

The key is to focus on how we can be helpful to the people in our lives, now.  We can do our part.  Be the calm in the storm.  Stop creating more stress and anxiety in our lives.  It is in our hands now.

Above all, it is important to realize that times like these are where we get our strength of character. Also, times like these  are what make us who we are.  Who knows when this will end.  Will the world even go back to the way it was?

I’ll admit there are things I miss. Freedom, to name the most important one.  Yet, we need to find purpose and meaning right now.  In the present. Virus-meme For one thing, we are being thoughtful.  And, we are being considerate. unnamed Above all else, we are putting our lives on hold.  We do this so others can stay safe.  Moreover, we do this so others can live.  We do this for the benefit of humanity-now that’s some choice we are making!  I don’t know what could be more important than that!
