Have you ever walked into an elevator and caught a scent, a fragrance that instantly changed the way you felt ? The scent could maybe remind you of someone, and perhaps even for a while, make you feel closer to that person. Did it change your mood? Make you feel happier, warm and cozy, comfort you or just lift up your spirits? This happens to me whenever I smell a fragrance that reminds me of my dad when he was alive, or sometimes a scent reminds me of my best friend. It draws me in and makes me feel some kind of connection to that person- almost like their aura was there with me. Other scents remind me of vacations, my kids when they were babies, and even my puppies! So, what inspired the popular British makeup artist and creator of her three year old makeup and skincare brand – Charlotte Tilbury Cosmetics- to create her first perfume ? According to Charlotte Tilbury, she “has always been interested in fragrance, a result of her fascination with the idea that one scent can attract others and change the energy frequency of the people and the environment around us”! For me this rings true. Does it for you too?
Charlotte Tilbury’s first fragrance,Charlotte Tilbury : Scent of a Dream (30ml $75, 50ml $100, 100ml $130) , was launched early this Fall. Like everything else she creates, it has become an international sensation. She designed the scent herself. It is as polarizing as it is powerful attracting Love, Light, Power, Positivety and Sex to all who wear it! She calls it “The Key to Attraction”.
The bottle is glamorous. It is angular, art-deco style with rose gold details. It reminds me of the bottle I would find if I were to purchase a “magic potion.”
Kate Moss is the face of Scent of a Dream.
In the video, Kate is perfection. She is strong powerful, ethereal, magical and Sexy.
There are a lot of notes in this bottle of fragrance, which makes it so perfect for fragrance lovers. Charlotte says “it is enriched with hypnotic, psycho-active, magic molecules; Spellbinding, Erotic floral extracts, and mood-enhancing citrus which brings about an aura of joy . She claims it is a mind – altering, Fleurotic (she coined this term), perfume. It is the first of it’s kind – a new way to combine and create a fragrance – built on two olfactory groups-floral and chypre. The floral notes, from jasmine, tuberose and violet, are a soft scent that is somewhat “old fashioned.” The polar opposite of the floral notes are the Chypre notes. Chypre is pronounced (sheep-ra), and it means Cyprus in French. The group was named after a Francoise Cody perfume. It is part Oriental, part Woody-using Bergemot and Patchouli, precious woods, and amber. It is definitely the spicy group . The combination Soft Florals Spiced Up with the Chypre notes are the magic mix that created this heavy, heavenly, sexy scent!
I have always been a huge YSL Opium fan. It is my go to fragrance for both day and night. I love a heavy, spicy, warm, sensual blend that is strong and exotic. There are characteristics of Scent of a Dream that remind me of Opium in some ways. It is also a warm sensual blend with spicy scents and exotic florals. It can also be worn both day and night. It seems strong at first, but it dries down to a magical fragrance that will make you feel powerful, joyous and sexy. You can’t beat that! As Charlotte describes it, “It is a Mind Altering Fleurotic perfume. It is the key to attraction. It is the first of it’s kind-a blend of floral-chypre with magic molecules, erotic floral extracts, and confidence-boosting citrus notes.” Nothing smells quite like it. I really like wearing it, and it is one of few that I would use and skip a day of my Opium. Coming from me that’s the most amazing compliment to Charlotte’s heavenly and successful Scent! Of A Dream!
You are Awesome!
