Bobbi Brown’s Limited Edition Holiday Collection 2019 has quite a range. First, there are the metallic gemstones in the Luxe Gems Eyeshadow Palette. Also, there is the Luxe Illuminating Highlighter. On the other hand, the Bobbi Brown Autumn Avenue Eyeshadow Palette is not so editorial. In other words, it isn’t instagram material. However, that is not, necessarily a bad thing. For one thing, a modern inspiration , the Bobbi Brown Avenue Eyeshadow Palette, is falling leaves on city streets. And, that is a far cry from glistening gemstones! Instead, this five shade palette isn’t loud. And, it isn’t bold. How is it that it is in the holiday collection? After all, there is a Fall collection!
So, why do I like it? Because you can create realistic, sophisticated looks, with the palette. Even more, , the looks you create can be classic, or sexy. Moreover, these shades will create smoldering eyes. Therefore, you can wear them for the party season, and beyond!
You can find the Bobbi Brown Autumn Avenue Eyeshadow Palette at Bloomingdales, Nordstrom, and on the Bobbi Brown Website. And, the palette retails for $29. However, for the holidays, you can find the palette for $20.
Bobbi Brown Autumn Avenue Eyeshadow Palette Packaging
First, the outer box is glitzy. Now, this surprises me. Yes, I understand that this is Bobbi Brown’s Holiday Packaging for 2019. However, the outer box’s design, implies that the shades inside are going to be wild. That makes sense with most of the Holiday Palettes. Although, this palette feels more like a fall palette to me, than a holiday palette.
Inside, are five pans that look like avenue streets in the city. Also, there is a big mirror. As a result, the palette is perfect for travel.
Formula For The Bobbi Brown Autumn Avenue Eyeshadow Palette
To begin, the palette has five finely milled powdered eyeshadows. Furthermore, there are three matte shades, and two shimmering metallic shades. First, the mattes are soft and buttery. Also, the pigments are not instagram worthy. Instead, the shades are subtle. The mattes are easy to apply. I didn’t find a lot of fallout. You can expect some fallout because, as my Guru, Wayne Goss says, they are eye shadows. So what did you expect?” Next, the two metallic shimmers have no glitter. Instead, they too, are more subtle. I love how creamy the shades are. And, I love that these shades don’t go overboard! Sometimes, it is refreshing to have plain, neutral palette. Finally, the eyeshadows are long-wearing.
The Bobbi Brown Autumn Avenue Eyeshadow Palette Shades
The Autumn Avenue Palette is on trend this season. For one thing, it is a dark khaki color themed palette. Therefore, it has the green and olive tones of the season.
First, Bone, an off white shade, has a matte finish. One way I like to use the Bone Shade is all over my eyelids as a base. Also, you can use Bone to highlight the inner corners of your eyes. Also, use this off -white shade under the arch, on your brow bone.
Next, Nude Bark, a light-medium nude brown shade, has a matte finish. I love this nude brown shade all over the eyelids. Also, you can use it as your transitional shade, above your crease. Also, it is a great shade to even out your shadow. Although, for a neutral, daytime look, wear Nude Bark all over your lids, and in your crease. Then, use it to line your lower lash lines.
Third, Golden Sage, a golden green shade, has a metallic finish. I love Golden Sage on the inner half of the eyelids. Also, you can use it all over your eyelids, and up to and including your crease. Also, use it in the center of your eyelids as a pop of color. Even more, if you are doing a night time look, use it in the inner corners of your eyes.
Fourth, Night Fall, a rich ivy shade, has a matte finish. First, I love to use nightfall to define the eyes. In other words, use this rich ivy shade to line your lower lash lines. Also, use Night Fall in the outer corners of your eyes. Also, I would use it on the outer part of my crease.
Finally, Blackened Olive, a rich green shade, has a metallic finish. Again, I love this rich green shade in the crease of the eyes. And, wear it on the outer corners of your eyes. Also, use it to define your lower lash lines. Even more, wear it on the outer half or third of your eyelids. Then, wear Golden Sage on the inner third of your eyelids. Last, line your eyes with Ivy.
Bobbi Brown Autumn Avenue Eyeshadow Palette Last But Not Least…….
I am a little confused about the Autumn Avenue Palette. For one thing, it is . packaged like a holiday palette. Another thing is, it is supposed to be a holiday palette. However, Autumn Avenue does not look like a Holiday Palette. In fact, the name of the palette, Autumn, is not a Holiday word. Instead, Autumn means fall. Also, leaves falling means fall. So, I am not sure why this is a “Holiday Palette.” In fact, Autumn Avenue would make a great transitional palette, from the summer to the fall. However, when winter rolls around, don’t you want a little razzle dazzle?
The Holiday Season is the only time of year we can wear glitter, and gemstone shades, and get away with it. It’s almost expected, isn’t it? So, if you are looking for a Holiday Palette, this isn’t it. However, if you want a pretty neutral palette, with green and olive tones, that happens to be the trend right now, then go for it. Otherwid=se, don’t let the packaging fool you. This is not a holiday palette. Leaves are finished falling by the time the holidays roll around. Holiday is partytime. And, who wants to go to a party with nude eyeshadows, during the holidays?
Let me know if you agree with me. For 11 months a year, we can wear the neutral shades. One month a year, we can really have fun! I want to have fun during the holidays. Do You? I love hearing from you. Please leave your comments in the comment box below. In the meantime, I hope you are having a wonderful holiday season!
