Last year Becca Cosmetics teamed up with Jaclyn Hill, you tube star, and created the Shimmering Skin Perfecter in Champagne Pop. This product started a craze as everyone became obsessed with wanting the Champagne Pop highlighter/perfecter. For summer 2016 Becca and Jaclyn Hill again collaborated to expand Champagne Pop, creating more of the collection, which was to include a palette with highlighters and blushes, as well as an eye palette.
The champagne collection was highly anticipated by all the Becca and Jaclyn Hill fans, and all of us who are makeup addicted and instagram watchers. The hype was incredible, and the Champagne Pop Palette was definitely the most desired makeup item of the summer. It was only available on Sephora, and of course the day it did go on sale, it sold out in a matter of a few minutes. I couldn’t even get one, and I wanted both the face palette and the eye palette. Unfortunately, soon after, I found out that there was a problem with the eye palette, and they were all taken off the shelves and sent back to where ever they came from. This eye shadow incident became known as the eye shadow debacle. We heartbroken Becca/Hill fans wanted to know why no eye shadow palette? It later became known that the formula of the eye shadow was not up to the Becca Standards. It was not the high end quality of Becca’s other eye shadow formulas. It was actually made with substandard ingredients. Becca had outsourced the eye palette to China to be manufactured because they were on a time restraint and needed the product sooner than they could have made it. China did not have the formula for Becca’s eye shadows. China used inferior, cheap ingredients which produced an inferior and cheap product that was not up to the standards that we have all come to know and love from Becca Cosmetics. So, no eye shadow palette. The good news is, Becca didn’t outsource the face palette. the face palette was made with the specifications and ingredients that meets Becca’s highest standards. The Becca X Jaclyn Hill Collection Face Palette ($52) sold exclusively at Sephora. If it is sold out (which it usually is) look for it at your local Sephora Stores.
The Palette features 5 shades of highlighter and blush in the limited edition iconic face palette. It contains 2 highlighters – Shimmer Skin Perfecting Highlighters in :
the original color from last year, Champagne Pop, which is a soft white gold with pink-peach undertones, and the new color Prosecco Pop, which is a medium warm gold.
The palette also contains two mineral blushes, Amaretto is a toasted almond matte, and Pomplemousse is a warm coral pink
The Palette also includes one Luminous Blush in Rose Spritz which is a soft peachy pink with a pale gold shimmer.
The packaging is fabulous. The palette is nice and large, and it has a beautiful bubble design on the top, and it has a large mirror inside the palette with the five shades.
WAYS TO USE ACCORDING TO BECCA AND JACLYN HILL:
THE SHIMMERING SKIN PERFECTERS CAN BE MIXED TOGETHER OR USED ON THEIR OWN. tHEY ARE HIGHLIGHTERS, AND YOU CAN CREATE SHIMMERING LOOKS OVER YOUR EYE SHADOWS, OR CREATE A METALLIC EYELINER LOOK. OR TAP SOME OVER A LIP GLOSS TO CREATED A FOILED LOOK ON THE LIPS.
THE BLUSHES CAN ALSO BE MIXED TOGETHER, LAYER ROSE SPRITZ OVER AMARETTO ON THE APPLES OF YOUR CHEEKS AND HIGHLIGHT WITH CHAMPAGNE POP, OR REVERSE THE TWO BLUSHES
MIX AMERETTO WITH PROSECCO POP FOR A WARM HIGHLIGHT ON THE TOP OF THE CHEEKBONES
MIX POMPLEMOUSSE WITH CHAMPAGNE POP FOR A SOFT PINK HIGHLIGHT
APPLY THE MINERAL BLUSH TO THE APPLES OF THE CHEEKS OR USE THEM AS A LIGHT CONTOUR SHADE
APPLY LUMINOUS BLUSH TO THE APPLES OF THE CHEEKS FOR A LUMINOUS POP, OR LAYER IT OVER OR UNDER THE MINERAL BLUSH TO ADD INTENSITY, OR ADD COLOR AND SHIMMER TO LIPS BY LAYERING IT OVER A LIP GLOSS.
What I love about the Becca X Jaclyn Hill Face Palette ………..is the highlighters are gorgeous and they do an amazing job capturing the light. The quality of the product is pure perfection. The formula is fine and creamy. The face shimmers and the blushes are a cinch to apply . The colors are designed to mix well together, as well as layer with each other. The colors are extremely pigmented, so a little goes a long way. I have just spend two weeks on vacation, and this ended up being the item I used most, just adding some eye liner and lipstick to the face, and that was it! It was my holy grail makeup palette on my trip! I definitely feel that this palette was worth the anticipation and the hype that went along with it. If the stores are sold out, keep trying, because it is worth it!
