Have you ever looked in the mirror when you woke up and saw that your eyes were puffy, or you had dark circles or bags under them? How did they get there? What can you do to get rid of them? There are many explanations for getting any one of these eye concerns. Under-Eye Bags, if not a genetic reason there is fat under your eyes, it could be caused from aging. Your anatomical structure could cause your lymph from draining properly, the result, you have congestion. Allergies cause congestion, or it could be you have fluid retention, hormonal issues, lifestyle issues such as drinking too much alcohol, too much salt in your diet, or you’re not drinking enough water! These concerns are all culprits for under-eye bags.
Dark Circles occur when a person has an increased pigmentation compartment under their eyes. The person could have a sensitivity of thin skin and the capillaries and veins under their eyes appears dark. Dark Circles can also appear because of water retention, kidney problems, poor metabolism and sometimes even anemia. If Dark Circles appear in the spring, it could be a result of pollen allergies. The skin around our eyes is 4 X thinner than the other areas of our face. The skin around our eyes undergoes rapid movement that we’re not even aware of, during the day we blink 15,000 times, which takes its toll on our eyes. Wind, sun, cold and dry air can also take their toll on our eye area.
Puffy eyes also can result from fluid retention, stress, aging, hormonal imbalances, allergies, crying (causes swelling from blood flow to the eyes), lack of sleep, and tearing from the eyes.
The Solutions below are all natural home remedies that can help with all three concerns.
Raw potatoes work for the three concerns because they contain a high enzyme content. Keep the potato in the refrigerator overnight for optimal results. Wash and cut the potato in slices, and put the slices on the eyes for 5 to 10 minutes. Remove and rinse.
Cucumbers are 95% water. They cause the blood vessels to constrict to get rid of eye bags and puffiness. They have mild astringent properties. Make sure the slices are cold, and cover the bags under the eye!
Use milk as a cold compress. Put it on cotton that is large enough to cover the eye area. Soak the cotton in cold milk. Squeeze the excess out and place cotton on the eyes for 20 minutes to 1/2 hour. It works well for puffiness, sore eyes and dark circles.
Green Tea Bags are rich in antioxidants and tannin which reduce dark circles and give you a refreshed look. Another way to use Green Tea Bags is to make a very strong pot of Hot Green Tea and pour into ice cube trays when cooled . Place tray in freezer and turn green tea into ice cubes. When you need a green tea ice cube, take one out, wrap it in gauze really well, wrap the gauze around the ice cube a few times. In the morning pat and gently press the cube to under eye, and above eye to bring down puffiness and under-eye bags.
Coconut Oil and Vitamin E combined moisturizes , soothes, and tightens the delicate skin under the eyes. By stimulating circulation, it helps remove toxins from the skin and reduces water retention to help provide relief from puffy eyes. Break three Vitamin E Capsules and mix the liquid vitamin E with one ounce of coconut oil. Using your ring finger to apply this serum, apply it twice a day around the eye area.
Mixing 2 Tablespoons of Aloe Vera gel with 1 teaspoon vitamin E oil and refrigerate will have anti-inflammatory properties and soothe your eyes.
Whisk egg whites to scramble and apply with a brush around the eye, let it dry, and you’ll feel a mild tension, but this is what you want! Leave it on until totally dry, then rinse off with cold water.
Make your own serum. Mix 1/4 cup of Sweet Almond Oil with 5 drops of each of these essential oils – thyme, rose, frankincense, and eucalyptus. Mix and refrigerate.
Don’t press too hard, just do a light press and sweep away, because the lymph is only a few layers under the skin.
PUSH GENTLY AND SWEEP THE LYMPH AWAY FROM YOUR EYES TO DRAIN THEM!
