Have you ever looked in the mirror when you woke up and saw that your eyes were puffy, or you had dark circles or bags under them?  How did they get there?  What can you do to get rid of them?  There are many explanations for getting any one of these eye concerns.  Under-Eye Bags, if not a genetic reason there is fat under your eyes, it could be caused from aging. Your anatomical structure could cause your lymph from draining properly, the result, you have congestion. Allergies cause congestion, or it could be you have fluid retention, hormonal issues, lifestyle issues such as drinking too much alcohol, too much salt in your diet, or you’re not drinking enough water! These concerns are all culprits for under-eye bags.

Dark Circles occur when a person has an increased pigmentation compartment under their eyes. The person could have a sensitivity of thin skin and the capillaries and veins under their eyes appears dark.  Dark Circles can also appear because of water retention, kidney problems, poor metabolism and sometimes even anemia.  If Dark Circles appear in the spring, it could be a result of pollen allergies.  The skin around our eyes is 4 X thinner than the other areas of our face.  The skin around our eyes undergoes rapid movement that we’re not even aware of, during the day we blink 15,000 times, which takes its toll on our eyes. Wind, sun, cold and dry air can also take their toll on our eye area.

Puffy eyes also can result from fluid retention, stress, aging, hormonal imbalances, allergies, crying (causes swelling from blood flow to the eyes), lack of sleep, and tearing from the eyes.

The Solutions below are all natural home remedies that can help with all three concerns.

Raw potatoes work for the three concerns because they contain a high enzyme content.  Keep the potato in the refrigerator overnight for optimal results.  Wash and cut the potato in slices, and put the slices on the eyes for 5 to 10 minutes.  Remove and rinse.
