I am not sure if makeup is supposed to be too cute. Too cute lends itself to being a bit childish. Or maybe, since the Unicorn makeup is a hugely popular trend these days, could this be Too Faced’s answer to a childish fantasy meaning that being just too darn cute is actually appealing to our inner child? Too Faced Too Cute ($32.40) is a limited edition eye shadow palette that includes nine new shades of matte, and shimmer shadows. A Step by Step How To Guide that teaches you three looks, using all of the shades, is included to get you started.
The palette is a pretty pink tin box, with a simple Too Faced written (unicorn style) in purple with blue,on the front. And also included is the cutest sticker collection you’ve ever seen, so that you can customize your palette – that is if you want your compact to be the cutest compact ever!
There is a nice size mirror inside the compact.
On the far left side of the Palette is a name for each of the three looks that are in the How To Guide. On the Top of the Palette is Ice Cream Cutie, The Middle shades are the Lucky Girl Look, and the Bottom shades are the Totally Cute look.
Ice Cream Cutie – Top
left to right – Double Scoop is a Vanilla matte, Bunny Fu Fu is a spicy orange matte, and Chocolate Donut is a dark brown matte
These are warm, neutral shades that are matte. Double Scoop (vanilla matte) is a great all over lid color, and highlighter, Bunny Fu Fu (spicy orange matte) could be worn all over the lid, or as a crease shade, and Chocolate Donut ( dark brown matte) can be worn in the crease, or as a liner.
Lucky Girl – Middle
left to right – Shooting Star is a nude beige shimmer, clover is a green pearled shimmery jewel tone, Storm Cloud is a duo-shade blackish peacock jewel-tone shimmer
Shooting Star ( beige shimmer) could be used as an all over eye base, a highlighter, or a pop of color in the center of your eyelid. Clover is a jewel tone shade that can be worn on the lid, as a crease color, or as a pop of color in the center of the eyelid, or as a light eyeliner. Storm (duo-shade a blackish peacock) can be worn in the crease, on the lid, or as an eyeliner.
Totally Cute – bottom
left to right – Unicorn is a light pink- pearl shimmer, I Love TF is a Barbie pink jewel tone with tiny flecks of silver glitter shimmer, and Meow is a deep amethyst jewel tone shimmer.
Unicorn (light-pink shimmer) can be worn as an all over eye shade, a highlighter, a lid shade, or a pop of color in the center of the lid. I Love TF can be worn on the eyelid, as a pop of color in the center of the eyelid, an accent color above the crease, in the crease, and as a liner. Meow (deep amethyst shimmer) can be worn on the eyelid, as a crease color, or as a liner.
Don’t for a minute assume that because the palette is cute, it is not up to standards. It may be cute, but the quality is there and it is good. The formula feels like velvet, it is richly pigmented, and is easy to blend. The texture is buttery and smooth. The nine shadows are new colors, and even though there are three looks mapped out for you, they are only the beginning of what you can do with these shadows. You have a great variety of vibrant, shimmery, neutral, matte, cool and warm colors to play with have fun with, and create some fabulous looks.

I can’t wait to get this new Too Faced Palette. Remember the saleswoman at Nordstrom’s who had no idea what line of make up I was talking about when I mentioned Too Faced? Now I can’t remember the line of make up she was selling for! Too funny!!! Cannot wait to go to Ulta tomorrow! I wish it was with you Sookie!
